Websites Built Like Infrastructure — Fast, Hardened, Found
We're an MSP that builds sites the way we build systems: static, secure, measured. Every build starts from Lodestar, our own battle-tested template — not a theme, not a builder, not a black box.

OUR APPROACH
Why we build static — and why it matters to you
Speed is not a vanity metric — it is revenue. Deloitte's "Milliseconds Make Millions" (opens in new tab) research found that a mere 0.1-second improvement in mobile speed lifted retail conversion rates roughly 8.4%. Static Astro pages ship less JavaScript and fewer server round-trips than a database-backed CMS, so that speed comes by default, not by heroics.
Security follows from the same architecture. A static site has no database to inject, no plugin ecosystem to patch, and no admin login for bots to brute-force. Patchstack's annual State of WordPress Security research consistently finds that the overwhelming majority of disclosed WordPress vulnerabilities live in third-party plugins and themes, not WordPress core (Patchstack (opens in new tab)) — remove the plugin surface and you remove most of the attack surface. That said, WordPress is still the right tool for plenty of clients, and we happily design, migrate, and manage it when it is — see WordPress Management.
Accessibility is not an afterthought either. WebAIM's Million 2025 report found that roughly 95% of top-1M home pages had at least one detectable WCAG failure (WebAIM (opens in new tab)) — and the U.S. Department of Justice has made clear that web accessibility falls under the ADA (opens in new tab). We build against WCAG 2.1 (opens in new tab) as a baseline, not a stretch goal.
And findability compounds all of it. Core Web Vitals are part of Google's page-experience signals (Google (opens in new tab), web.dev (opens in new tab)) — a fast, accessible, well-marked-up site ranks better with humans and with the AI answer engines increasingly sitting in front of search. We build the GEO layer in from day one; see AI Search Optimization.
WHAT'S INSIDE
Anatomy of a Lodestar build
Design system
Every build starts from brand tokens — colors, type, spacing — mapped onto a shared component library. Nothing is hand-rolled per page, so your site stays visually consistent as it grows.
You get your own /styleguide/ page: a living catalog of every component in your brand, so future changes stay on-system instead of drifting.
Performance
Built on Astro 6 (opens in new tab) — pages ship as static HTML with minimal JavaScript. A responsive image pipeline serves the right size to the right device automatically.
Performance budgets are enforced in CI, not hoped for. If a change regresses Lighthouse Performance below our ≥ 90 gate, the deploy fails before it reaches production.
Security
Strict HTTP security headers ship with every build — HSTS, a Content-Security-Policy (report-only in early weeks, enforced once console violations are clean), and a locked-down Permissions-Policy.
There is no database to inject and no admin login to brute-force. The attack surface a static site presents is a fraction of a database-backed CMS.
SEO & AI search
A schema.org graph, XML sitemaps, and clean markup ship on every page. We also generate markdown "twins" of key pages and an llms.txt file, so AI answer engines have a clean, citable source to read from.
This is the same GEO layer we build for every client — see AI Search Optimization for the full breakdown.
Care & sync
Lodestar is our own template, and we keep improving it — new components, security hardening, accessibility fixes. Those improvements flow downstream to every client site we maintain.
Your site does not freeze the day it launches. It gets better over time, on the same cadence as every other Lodestar site we run.
SEE IT LIVE
Tour the demo — every tire is kickable
This is not a slide deck. It is a real, deployed site running the exact template your build starts from — poke at it.
-
Home page
The full landing experience — hero, trust signals, services, proof. Not a Dribbble mockup: a deployed, measurable site you can run Lighthouse against yourself.
-
Module library — styleguide
Every component we build with, live in one page: buttons, cards, tabs, accordions, hero variants. Kick every tire before we write a line of your copy.
-
Content showcase — locations, glossary, comparisons
Content-collection patterns for service-area pages, glossary terms, and side-by-side comparisons — schema-backed, not just pretty templates.
-
Testimonials & FAQ patterns
Accordion FAQs and review layouts wired for FAQPage and Review schema out of the box — the boring SEO plumbing, already built.
HOW IT WORKS
From first call to launch day
Four steps, a staging URL from week one, and no surprises at cutover.
-
Discovery & intake
A structured questionnaire covers your brand, services, service area, and existing content — so the build starts from your business, not a blank page.
-
Design & build
Your brand goes on the hardened Lodestar template. You get a staging URL from week one, so you are reviewing a real site, not a static mockup.
-
Content, SEO & AI wiring
Schema, copy, redirects, and analytics with consent get wired in before launch — not bolted on after the fact.
-
Launch & care
Deploy pipeline, uptime monitoring, and hosting from $17/mo. Template improvements keep flowing to your site after launch through continuous sync.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
The short answers people ask before starting a web design project. Anything missing? Reach out.
What does a website cost?
Design and development work is quote-based after a short discovery call — we do not sell cookie-cutter packages, because a five-page brochure site and a content-collection-driven service business need different amounts of work. Hosting is published and predictable: plans start at $17/month on our Hosting page.
How long does a build take?
A typical small-business site takes a few weeks from the point your content is ready to hand off. Sites with more custom content collections — locations, glossary, comparisons — take longer. We give you a realistic timeline after discovery, not before.
Who owns the site and code?
You do. The build lives in a standard Git repository under your control — no proprietary CMS lock-in, no walled-garden builder you cannot export from.
Can you redesign my existing WordPress site?
Yes — we migrate existing WordPress sites onto the same static, hardened approach. And if WordPress is genuinely the right tool for your situation, we still manage WordPress for clients who need it. See our WordPress Management page.
Will my site show up in AI search?
We wire the schema graph, sitemaps, and machine-readable content twins that AI answer engines look for at build time — see our AI Search Optimization service for the full picture.
Do you handle domain, email, and DNS?
Yes. We are an MSP first — domains, DNS records, email authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), and Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 setup are the day job, not an add-on.
